Abundant Optimism

Helping people regain and keep an optimistic outlook in challenging circumstances and improve their creativity, mind, and skills.

My name is Tammy and I live in Sacramento, California. I work for the State of California and have done so since I graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science in Business with concentrations in Management and Accounting.

I like to help people. I was able to help one employee promote who was initially considered sub-standard Ė I discovered he had never been trained on the job. I have helped people see their strengths and find a career path which was more fulfilling than the job they were doing. I have also been able to provide people with tips or resources to help them with a given situation or life in general. I hope to continue these functions with this web site.

I enjoy streamlining and have been able to eliminate at least one positionís worth of work from state service from non-management positions. Due to workload increases this work would now require additional staff or overtime. As a supervisor I was able to direct my accounting team in improving our work by 40% in one year and eliminated year-end overtime in the unit. In the departmentís accounting area overtime during the months of June and July was expected and very high in order to complete the annual year-end work load.

I have fun discovering the similarities and differences among people of different belief systems and cultures. My discoveries have lead me to believe that everyone is basically the same with a little spice thrown in for individuality. I have been able to incorporate parts of other belief systems into my life to enhance it and become less stressed. Some of these discoveries will be shared on this site. I do not believe one needs to be part of a culture or belief system to benefit from some of the practices of that culture or belief system.

I enjoy the quality music of all genres, books, singing, musical theater, and traveling. I rarely watch live television and prefer to find a good book to read or an older sitcom or movie to watch.
